The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices. What You Will Do Promotes, maintains and/or restores the health of the population through the practice of acupuncture. Practices acupuncture in a caring, professional and ethical manner in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease based on traditional oriental medical concepts. Utilizes the following traditional oriental medicine practices to treat specific points on the human body known as acupuncture points or meridians by: a) Inserting acupuncture needles, b) moxibustion, c) cupping, d) Electro-acupuncture and acupressure massage, breathing techniques, exercise, prescribing drugless substances and herbs as dietary supplements to promote health. Required Qualifications 2 Years Practicing as an acupuncturist. Experience working with an interdisciplinary team across eastern medicine with holistic approaches. Experience working with senior population. Experience with use of aromatherapy in practice. AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare)

    Preferred Qualifications Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting. 3 Years Practicing as an acupuncturist. NCCAOM Certification in Acupuncture

Essential Functions Documentation Completes all required documentation within the same business day of the client visit. All written communication must be legible and concise and entered into the medical record. Professional development Participates in self-directed, professional continuing education to enhance clinical performance by updating theoretical knowledge, technique skills and clinical application. 50 CEU's every 2 years starting Jan. 2007 Quality monitoring Performs assessment of client status and formulates a treatment care plan in accordance with the client's goals and traditional oriental medicine/acupuncture practice standards. Ensures assessments reflect synthesis or gathered data into an appropriate plan of care Treatment Provides acupuncture as a single course of treatment or in conjunction with other forms of medical treatment. Performs acupuncture services utilizing appropriate methods according to licensure guidelines and professional practice standards set forth by Calif. Acupuncture Board Department of Consumer Affairs.
Appropriate methods include:
Inserting acupuncture needles, moxibustion, cupping, electro-acupuncture, acupressure massage, breathing techniques, exercise and recommending drugless substances and herbs as dietary supplements.
