Job Description

Acupuncturist, Applied Somatic Medicine™ Apprentice at The Embodied Wellness Studio | Tigard, Oregon The Embodied Wellness Studio LLC Tigard, OR Job Details Part-time Up to $85 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Referral program Qualifications Acupuncture Patient care Patient treatment Acupuncture License Psychology Full Job Description Licensed Acupuncturist Applied Somatic Medicine™ Apprentice at The Embodied Wellness Studio Tigard, Oregon This isn't a standard associate position. Most acupuncture jobs ask you to see four patients an hour, bill insurance, and figure out the rest on your own. This one is different. The Embodied Wellness Studio is a women's health clinic in Tigard, Oregon built around Applied Somatic Medicine™ — a clinical method developed over 10+ years that integrates acupuncture, hands-on bodywork, and nervous system-informed care into something that goes well beyond what either modality does alone. Our patients get results. They stay. They refer. The practice is now past capacity, and we're looking for the right people to step in and carry this work forward — not just fill a schedule.
WHAT THIS ROLE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
You'll work alongside Katerina Baratta, LAc — founder, clinical director, and the developer of Applied Somatic Medicine™ — learning to apply the method with real patients in a real clinical setting. This is hands-on mentorship, not a training manual. Katerina's time and clinical knowledge are a significant part of what you're receiving here, and the compensation structure reflects that investment on both sides. The clinic is intentionally slow. Patients are seen one at a time, with full presence. The schedule is structured to protect your nervous system as much as theirs — because a practitioner in survival mode cannot do this work. As you develop within the method, your patient load and compensation grow with you.
YOU'RE A STRONG FIT IF
You hold a current Oregon acupuncture license (or will soon) You have bodywork experience — craniosacral, myofascial, visceral, somatic, or similar — and it has shaped how you think clinically You are trauma-informed and have experienced emotional release yourself — you know what it can look like in a treatment room and you're not afraid of it You have genuine familiarity with psychology and the nervous system, whether through formal training or your own sustained study You have a personal qigong, yoga, or somatic movement practice that has meaningfully changed how you live — not just how you treat You've been looking for a deeper, more supportive way to do this work — and you haven't quite found it yet You want to be mentored, not just employed
COMPENSATION
This is a commission-based position starting at a 40/60 split in the clinic's favor, moving to 50/50 as training is completed. Based on current patient rates, that translates to approximately $40-$85 per session depending on treatment type and your stage of development. Training sessions are compensated at Oregon Portland Metro minimum wage. The cost of Katerina's training time accrues and is paid off through patient revenue before the split reaches 50/50 — typically within the first few months of seeing patients. For the right person, there is a longer arc here: the potential to become a teacher of this work yourself.
TO APPLY
Email with the subject line: Apprentice — Applied Somatic Medicine™ Include your resume and a letter telling us: what drew you to this posting, what your personal practice looks like, and what you've been looking for that standard acupuncture practice hasn't given you. We read every letter carefully. If this made your heart jump a little, we're excited to meet you.

Up to $85.00 per hour
