Where You'll Work Founded in 1950, Dignity Health - Sequoia Hospital is a 208-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Redwood City, California. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Anesthesia Technician, you will provide critical support in the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia, assisting providers with equipment and supplies for diverse surgical and non-surgical cases.

Every day you will prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases. This includes performing complex procedures under direction (e.g., setting up and assisting with line placement, intubation, extubation), managing supply inventory, room turnover, and patient positioning/transport.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of anesthesia equipment and sterile techniques, possess meticulous attention to detail, and exhibit excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Utilizes the AIDET principle to communicate with others, with a focus on patients and their families (Acknowledge Introduce Explain Duration Thank). Assembles equipment and supplies for anesthesia carts. Completes check of anesthesia machines each morning and between cases. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment needed for the care of the anesthesia patient (Main OR and the OB dept). Aseptically sets up supplies and equipment for peripheral, central and arterial line insertions and blood warmers. Assists with patient transfers, positioning and transport. Orders and stocks anesthesia supplies according to established PAR levels. Maintains all equipment in clean and working condition. Send equipment out for repair as needed. Notifies anesthesia department and nursing when equipment is not available for use. Job Requirements Required High School Diploma or GED General Studies One year of Anesthesia Technician 1 experience or equivalent anesthesia experience Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) from the American Heart Association Preferred Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
