Job Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesia providers by preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment and supplies required for surgical and procedural cases. This role focuses on ensuring anesthesia readiness, operating room efficiency, and patient safety throughout the perioperative process. No direct patient care is required; however, the technician must have extensive knowledge of anesthesia procedures, equipment, and emergency response protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and stock anesthesia carts, machines, and procedure rooms before scheduled cases. Perform anesthesia machine checkout, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Set up and maintain breathing circuits, laryngoscopes, video laryngoscopes, ET tubes, LMAs, IV pumps, rapid infusers, monitors, and related anesthesia equipment. Assist anesthesia providers during routine and emergency procedures, including intubations and critical situations. Support arterial, central venous, and vascular access procedures by preparing required supplies and equipment. Manage room setup for first cases, room turnover, and supply replenishment between procedures. Ensure compliance with operating room safety standards, including infection prevention, electrical safety, and fire safety protocols. Assist with patient transport and positioning as needed. Participate in procedural time-outs and support perioperative workflow efficiency. Maintain inventory and ensure availability of anesthesia supplies and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Anesthesia Technician experience. At least 1 previous travel assignment. Current BLS certification. Knowledge of general, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), and regional anesthesia. Experience in Ambulatory OR and Operating Room settings.
Strong understanding of:
Endotracheal tubes (ETT) Intubation and emergency airway management Intubating LMA IV insertion and IV catheter management Arterial line and vascular access equipment Anesthesia machines and breathing circuits Standard and transport monitors Video laryngoscopes/Glidescopes Rapid infusers and IV pumps Operating room safety practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.

A.T.). Previous charge or leadership experience.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week (Mid Shift). Local candidates within 60 miles preferred.
