Job Description

Description Maine Medical Center (Portland) Management/Leadership Req #: 79307 The Anesthesia Tech Manager role is a dynamic leadership position within the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Maine Medical Center-Portland - Maine's only level 1 trauma center. This key leader will be responsible for supporting a team of approximately 25 Anesthesia Technicians at MMC and Scarborough Surgery Center. Beyond direct managerial support for these front-line care team members, the Anesthesia Tech Manager provides critical, department-wide leadership in supply chain coordination, pharmacy relations, capital and cyclic budget management, project management and education of anesthesia providers and trainees. This leader collaborates closely with the CRNA and physician leaders as part of the department's leadership team and will collaborate with other leaders within the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Services. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn and grow, attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Summary:
In addition to performing the duties of the Anesthesia Tech position, the Manager of Anesthesia Technicians is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the Anesthesia Tech Staff. In collaboration with the Director of CRNA Services, the Manager maintains fiscal responsibility for the supply/drug portion of the anesthesia budget. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
High school education plus a minimum of 5 years experience as an Anesthesia Technician preferred.
License/Certifications:
National Certification by ASATT (American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience as Anesthesia Tech III preferred. Knowledge of inventory control with exposure to budget process. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with other departments and personnel. Basic computer skills.
