Job Description

Where You'll Work At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Anesthesia Technician, you will provide critical support in the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia, assisting providers with equipment and supplies for diverse surgical and non-surgical cases.

Every day, you will prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases. This includes performing complex procedures under direction (e.g., setting up and assisting with line placement, intubation, extubation), managing supply inventory, room turnover, and patient positioning/transport.

To be successful in this vital role, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of anesthesia equipment and sterile techniques, possess meticulous attention to detail, and exhibit excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Will assist providers and medical/surgical support staff in activities such as patient assessment, treatment, anesthesia intervention, physiological monitoring, and direct patient care. Will be timely and precise in preparation, set up, calibration, and troubleshooting of invasive monitoring lines will assist with difficult airway and/or emergency situations. To assist and ensure sterile placement of invasive physiological monitoring and treatment catheter (i.e. arterial, pulmonary catheters, venous infusion ports, central venous pressures). Responsible for responding to patient-specific needs including (not limited to): blood, medications, supply and equipment during the surgical procedure. Accordingly, will follow all guidelines as instructed by the licensed provider. Performs patient identification procedures to ensure proper delivery of blood products and medications. To operates surgical equipment under the direction of a licensed provider while ensuring operating/procedure rooms and pre/post rooms are adequately stocked with appropriate quantity of supplies and required. Works closely with Supply logistics to maintain anesthesia product supply for the operating room and procedural areas throughout the facility.
