Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Anesthesia Technician to join our healthcare team at a leading medical facility. The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in supporting anesthesiologists and surgical teams by preparing, maintaining, and managing anesthesia equipment and supplies. This position ensures the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia care, contributing to optimal patient outcomes across various clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, comprehensive knowledge of physiology and anatomy, and experience working within high-pressure hospital environments. Responsibilities Prepare anesthesia machines, monitors, and related equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly and sterile. Assist anesthesiologists during procedures by providing necessary supplies, medications, and equipment promptly. Maintain accurate inventory control of anesthesia supplies and DME (durable medical equipment), ensuring availability and proper storage. Monitor and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment during procedures to ensure safety and compliance with aseptic techniques. Support patient care activities by understanding physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to anesthesia administration. Document equipment usage, maintenance logs, and patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ICU staff, emergency medicine personnel, and hospital medicine units to support acute care needs. Assist in inventory management processes to optimize stock levels while minimizing waste or shortages. Follow hospital protocols for infection control, sterile technique, and safety standards in all activities. Participate in ongoing training related to critical care practices, EMR systems, and updates in anesthesia technology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BLS Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
: A four-year college education, including related technical training; or a two-year college education which included technical training closely related to this position and two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification by the registry of the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred.
