We are seeking an experienced and proactive Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia care team in a leading medical center. In this role, you will assist with a wide range of technical duties, including equipment management, intraoperative support, and collaboration with anesthesia professionals in complex surgical cases. Assist in the perioperative care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including preparing anesthesia equipment, setting up medications and supplies, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of all anesthesia tools. Communicate effectively with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to meet clinical needs throughout the day. Support clinicians during challenging procedures such as difficult intubations and central line placements. Operate specialized equipment like cell-saver machines, infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and fiberoptic bronchoscopes, performing calibration and troubleshooting as needed. Participate in advanced surgical cases including cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other complex procedures. Ensure all anesthesia equipment is operating correctly, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot sophisticated devices. Assist in developing and delivering in-service training programs for staff, enhancing team skills and knowledge. Prepare operating rooms between cases, set up carts and transport monitors, and provide full-service setup at the start and end of each day. Collaborate with other hospital units to ensure the availability and proper functioning of anesthesia equipment for outpatient and off-site procedures. Provide backup support to the shift supervisor as needed and perform additional duties assigned by management. Required Skills:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of two years of experience working as an Anesthesia Technician or in a similar medical technical role. Strong understanding of anesthesia equipment, supplies, and troubleshooting techniques. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure surgical environments. Demonstrated ability to perform equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex devices including infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and video-guided equipment. Nice to Have Skills:
Certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or an equivalent professional certifying body. Experience supporting cardiac, transplant, vascular, thoracic, or trauma surgeries. Familiarity with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and specialized anesthesia systems. Preferred Education and Experience:
A college degree, including technical training related to anesthesia technology, with a minimum of two years' relevant professional experience. Certification by a recognized national certifying body such as the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists is highly desirable. Other Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including on-call hours. Physical stamina to assist with equipment setup and patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting. Valid licensure or certification as required by regional healthcare regulations.
