ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of the Anesthesia Technician is to assist the licensed anesthesia provider(s) with functions related to the care and monitoring of patients and equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Performs setup of sterile blocks for total joint patients; assists physician with blocks, including ultrasound setup, dressing block area, clean-up, disposal of sharps, etc. Maintains an adequate inventory of necessary equipment and supplies; orders all non-stock Anesthesia products Checks stock supplies and drugs for expiration dates. Cleans and maintains emergency carts (airway, epidural, trauma, peds, L&D & specialty). Maintains drug par levels and supplies for the assigned area. Prepares IV fluids for all cases. Provides daily maintenance of equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Candidates should possess recent, active, and relevant experience in the healthcare industry, ideally within the past six months in a hospital or physician's office setting. Experience should demonstrate the capacity to perform the essential duties of the role in a comparable healthcare environment and reflect current knowledge of industry standards, tools, and regulatory requirements. High School diploma or equivalent required A graduate of an Anesthesia Technician program is strongly preferred Minimum one (1) year of previous experience
PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Position performed in a clinical healthcare setting with frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens Requires frequent to constant hand movement, including repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and significant manual & finger dexterity Requires excellent hand-eye coordination, corrected vision, and hearing within normal range Occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting to 50 lbs Frequent standing and walking for extensive periods Frequent bending and stooping Requires working under stressful conditions and the ability to work irregular hours, including nights and holidays as necessary [Link available when viewing the job]
