Job Mission:
The Cross Trained Assistant - Anesthesia Technician/PCT holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses and/ or anesthesia provider by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, comfort measures and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of an RN and/ or anesthesia provider. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes. Also performs the housekeeping, transportation, and courier duties for the surgical services area.
High school graduate or equivalent required. BLS certification required upon hire.
Specialty Knowledge Skills:
Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of an RN. Cooperation and strong "team" focus required. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific. Assistance in transporting patients and specimens. Maintain cleanliness of surgical area equipment. OSH and its affiliates are equal opportunity employers.
