Job Description

Primary Therapist Are you the kind of clinician who believes people are more than their diagnosis? At Rising Phoenix Wellness Services, we are looking for a Primary Therapist who is ready to do meaningful, trauma-informed work alongside a clinical team that has your back. Since 2018, we have built a full continuum of outpatient care in North Scottsdale (PHP, IOP, and OP) for adults navigating substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders.
Our mission is simple:
help people recognize the unique value of their life and improve their overall health and wellness. If that lands with you, keep reading. About the Role As a Primary Therapist, you will carry a manageable caseload and serve as the clinical anchor for the clients assigned to you. You will run individual sessions, facilitate groups, partner with our psychiatrist, case managers, family team, and wellness providers, and walk with clients as they move through PHP, IOP, and OP levels of care. Our team meets together, staffs together, and grows together. We invest heavily in clinical development, modality training, and creating a culture where your voice in the treatment plan matters. What You Will Do Provide individual, group, and family therapy to adults in PHP, IOP, and outpatient programming. Complete biopsychosocial assessments, build collaborative treatment plans, and document clinical work in a timely, compliant manner. Use evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities (CBT, DBT, ART, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, EFT, Family Systems, REBT, and more) — and grow your toolkit with ours. Coordinate care closely with our psychiatrist, medical providers, case managers, wellness team (yoga, nutrition), and alumni services. Engage families and support systems as appropriate to the client's plan of care. Participate in clinical staffing, case consultation, and ongoing professional development. Support clients in stepping down through levels of care and into long-term recovery and wellness. Requirements An Arizona-licensed (or license-eligible) behavioral health clinician: LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LMFT, or LISAC. Recent Master's graduates may apply as well with intent to become licensed Comfortable working with substance use, mental health, and co-occurring presentations across the adult lifespan. Trauma-informed at your core. You see behavior as communication, not character. Affirming and inclusive — including with LGBTQIA+ clients and gender-responsive programming. A strong communicator and collaborator who genuinely enjoys being part of a team. Organized enough to stay on top of documentation without losing the human in front of you.
Bonus:
training or interest in EMDR, ART, DBT, Somatic Experiencing, equine-assisted therapy, MAT/opioid treatment, or work with impaired professionals or young adults. We are open to clinicians at every stage of their career. From newly licensed associates ready to grow under strong supervision, to seasoned therapists looking for a clinically rich, mission-aligned home. Tell us where you are; we will meet you there. Why Rising Phoenix Mission you can feel. Outpatient care that treats the whole person: clinical, medical, family, and wellness. Not just a diagnosis code. A clinical team that shows up.
