Job Description

Category Schools - School Therapist Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as an Art Therapist or School Therapist to make a meaningful impact supporting students' emotional and creative growth! This contract role extends across the school year, from August 12, 2026, to June 4, 2027, providing specialized services on a part-time schedule (about 5-10 hours per week) near Van Nuys, CA. Your caseload will involve working with four students, each requiring dedicated, weekly sessions tailored to their individual needs:
UO:
45-minute sessions
LR:
30-minute sessions
GV:
30-minute sessions
MC:
85-minute sessions You'll collaborate across various school sites, delivering both direct therapeutic support and conducting assessments. Participation in annual IEP meetings is also expected to ensure student progress and effective service integration.
Desired Qualifications:
Certificate from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification OR Certificate from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation OR Certification from the National Recreation and Park Association, with authorization for recreation or therapeutic recreation services Background and experience in art or school-based therapeutic practices Strong ability to adapt your approach to the unique needs of individual students Experience with IEP processes is highly valued
