In this role, you will utilize creative arts therapies to promote emotional, psychological, and physical well-being among diverse patient populations. Your expertise will help individuals express themselves, process complex emotions, and improve their overall mental health through innovative art-based interventions. Duties Develop and implement individualized art therapy treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or undergoing hospice care Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions utilizing various art modalities such as visual arts, music, dance, or recreational therapy to foster emotional expression and healing Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate art therapy into comprehensive patient care plans, ensuring consistency with medical documentation and HIPAA regulations Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and session notes in compliance with healthcare standards and CPT coding requirements Engage in behavioral health interventions including addiction counseling, mental health counseling, and dementia care strategies to support holistic recovery Facilitate therapeutic activities that promote social skills development, self-awareness, and coping mechanisms for patients of all ages, especially children and pediatrics Educate patients and families about the benefits of art therapy as part of ongoing outpatient or hospice care programs Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited institution Valid licensure or certification as an Art Therapist (e.g., ATR-BC) preferred or eligible for certification Proven experience working with children, individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities and autism—and older adults in settings such as outpatient clinics or hospice care Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques, mental health counseling principles, and recreational therapy methods Familiarity with medical documentation standards, HIPAA compliance, CPT coding for billing purposes, and electronic medical records systems Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple cases independently Excellent communication skills with the capacity to connect empathetically with diverse patient populations Join us in transforming lives through creative expression!
