Job Description Find your calling at Mercy! Overview Completes assessments as indicated and documents patients response to treatment. Plans, organizes and conducts therapy sessions on an individual and group basis, and evaluates process of patients. The purpose of Activity therapy is to facilitate positive changes in patients basic functional ability, achieve improved independent functioning, and to make the hospital experience positive and growth oriented. These changes are accomplished through therapy, education, and recreation.

Bachelor's degree and internship in related area required.

Experience:
Experience working with patients with mental illness and chemical dependency,

Individual must be knowledgeable of mental illness disorders and be able to provide appropriate therapeutic interventions that enable the patient's recovery. Skills in providing educational and group therapy interventions, assessment of patients psychosocial functioning, and knowledge of appropriate community resources.

Experience working with patients across the lifespan (pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric)
