Job Description
Our new dual-diagnosis behavioral health treatment center in Tulsa, is seeking a credentialed Art Therapist to facilitate therapeutic groups 1 day a week . The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders , creating a safe, structured, and expressive environment that enhances emotional regulation, self-awareness, and recovery engagement.
Schedule:
1x a week, flexibility with the day on-site Key Responsibilities Facilitate art therapy groups 1 day per week for adult dual-diagnosis clients Design and lead structured creative interventions aligned with clinical treatment goals Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure group content supports: ASAM-guided SUD care Trauma-informed therapy Emotional processing and coping skills Maintain professional, ethical, and clinical standards in all client interactions Document group participation, engagement, and clinical observations in the EMR Support a therapeutic milieu that reinforces recovery, stabilization, and self-expression Adapt interventions for varying cognitive, emotional, and skill levels within groups Required Qualifications Master's degree in Art Therapy or a related clinical field Credentialed/licensed/certified to practice Art Therapy (ATR, ATR-BC, or state-recognized clinical licensure accepted) Experience leading groups or expressive therapy interventions Knowledge of mental health disorders, substance use treatment, and co-occurring care Clinical documentation competency in electronic medical records (EMR) Preferred Qualifications Experience in a behavioral healthcare or substance use treatment setting Familiarity with dual-diagnosis, 12-step integration, trauma-informed care, and clinical group models Strong skills in creative intervention planning and group facilitation Schedule & Expectations Part-time, 1 day per week On-site group facilitation required Must support program structure and documentation within assigned shift Core Competencies Group facilitation & engagement strategies Therapeutic intervention design Documentation accuracy & timeliness Collaboration within multidisciplinary treatment teams Crisis awareness and de-escalation support in group environments Physical & Work Environment Fast-paced inpatient behavioral health setting Frequent client interaction in group therapy spaces Requires standing, facilitating activities, and managing art supplies/materials
