SUMMARY OF POSITION

The art therapist provides group, milieu, and individual therapy services on the inpatient psychiatric units with special consideration to theoretical approaches and evidence-based practice. The art therapist utilizes their specialized expertise to contribute to the individualized plan of care and meet the biopsychosocial needs of patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

(S): Master's degree from an AATA (American Art Therapy Association) approved institution. Hold an ATR-P (Provisional Registered Art Therapist) credential through the Art Therapy Credentials Board with a supervision plan in place to meet requirements to apply for an ATR (Registered Art Therapist) credential and later sit for a board exam. PA Act 31 completion CPI and BLS required prior to orientation completion
