Job Description
Company Overview Hoffman Homes is a community of employees gathered on one campus to help youth and young adults understand and manage their mental health diagnosis. Summary We are seeking a skilled Art Therapist to join our creative therapy team. This position reports to the Director of Creative Therapies and oversees and develops the art therapy program for HH. Individual and group sessions are conducted to support the client's therapeutic needs. The Art Therapist provides an expressive outlet for the processing of thoughts and feelings while developing coping skills. This position may be asked to take the lead on any art-related campus projects. This role may also be asked to participate in limited community events and outreach to highlight the art therapy program. Responsibilities Tailor sessions to the needs of each client. Communicate progress to each client's treatment team. Manage the art therapy program to include planning schedules, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Collaborate with the Director of Creative Therapies to keep the program current by implementing new tools, techniques, and projects. Utilize trauma-informed care techniques and restorative practices in all interactions. Requirements Master's degree in art therapy from an accredited college or university preferred, or Master's degree in counseling with Registered Expressive Arts Therapy certification or pursuing certification, or Bachelor's degree in art therapy pursuing a Master's degree in art therapy. Experience working with youth in a mental health setting. Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and therapeutic techniques. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and families.
