Job Description

Wayne Halfway House is committed to the belief that every moment of every day is critical for each of our youth. We train our employees to always be a positive example for those around them. Through constant effort and encouragement, we believe our residents will receive a life-changing impact, which will lead them to future successes. The Therapist will be under the direction of the Clinical Director and will be primarily responsible for providing therapeutic services for the residents of the facility, as well as conduct intake assessments under the supervision of the Clinical Director, as requested, by DCS/DCF.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide regular therapeutic services for an individual caseload of clients as well as group therapy referred by Clinical Director at the facility.
  • Conduct intake process after admission to program to evaluate clients' physical or mental condition, based on review of available client information and interview(s) with client.
  • Complete psychological assessments as requested by DCS.
  • Provide a clinical diagnosis for clients, as necessary, through use of DSM-5 and consultation with Clinical Director.
  • Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings, as requested, to provide updates on treatment goals.
  • Complete documentation for resident case records in a timely manner and provide to Program Case Managers.
  • Perform crisis interventions with clients when necessary.
  • Follow all applicable policies of Wayne Halfway House, Inc.
  • Demonstrate competence in cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks. Education and Experience
  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution required in a field related to Human Services.
NO FELONY CONVICTIONS.
Must pass a drug screen and background check and maintain eligibility for continued employment.
