Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Integrative Care (Mental Health) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Integrative Care, Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, and Art Therapy for Mental Health. This role functions in an advanced clinical capacity for the supervision, planning and provision of mental health integrative care programs and services. Reports to Director, Integrative Care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, and program development. Creates a safe, nurturing environment where patients and families feel comfortable with creative expression and communication. Demonstrates the ability to plan, assess, implement, and evaluate therapeutic interventions. Provides collaborative services with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring quality, evidence-based care programming. Ensures staff follow charting procedures and regulatory requirements. Independently carries out assigned responsibilities while seeking guidance from the director and/or upper management given unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation of policy/practice or allocation of funds to resolve. Maintains clinical competency by supporting a patient caseload. Follows all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Assists with staff scheduling. Leads, manages, coaches, and trains a team or department, provides guidance, support, and mentors to ensure optimal performance and productivity. Oversees the recruitment, hiring, team/department orientation, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions including up to termination processes for a team or department. Performs all other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Required Licenses and/or Certifications Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC), or Art Therapist-Board Certified (ATR-BC) required. CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications None preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation, child life, art therapy, music therapy or related field required required. 3 - 5 years of experience in related field. Preferred Education and Experience Master's Degree preferred. Work experience in mental health setting preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated clinical excellence in the area of responsibility. Interpersonal skills necessary to direct, assign, supervise and evaluate. assigned staff; identify and implement solutions to operational and organizational issues. Demonstrated success in working with an interdisciplinary team. Increased Security Clearance may be required: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working condition due to performance of certain patient care activities.
