Job Description

ATHLETIC TRAINER - ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE
Mobile County Certified Job Number 2300290066 Start Date Open Date 03/05/2026 Closing Date 09/30/2026 The duties include but are not limited to: Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. Provides instruction that is realistic in terms of current and future job specifications in the field. Updates technical skills yearly as required by Business and Industry Certification. Develops career related instructional materials. Assists in the placement of students in the health care industry. Works with advisory committee from the health care industry. Works with guidance personnel in the recruitment of students. Assists students to make informed decisions regarding their occupational goals. Provides related instruction with laboratory, or other occupational experience that is appropriate to the career objectives of the student. Provides athletic training services. Maintains and submits records and reports for the State Department of Education. Participates in Business and Industry Certification. Maintains an environment which is conducive to learning with particular attention to safety practices, good housekeeping, and student behavior. Conducts follow-up on graduates from the program and maintains records of their placement in-field. Prepares annual budgets, orders instructional supplies and equipment according to district procedures and maintains inventory records as required. Other duties as assigned by the principal.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate in Health, Physical Education, or a related field. Must hold a valid Athletic Trainer license (ATC). Must maintain that license during employment. Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in an Allied Health Science related field with a minimum 2.75 GPA and verify a minimum of one year (12 months) of experience as an Athletic Trainer.
PREFERRED
Three years (36 months) of experience as an Athletic Trainer. Current CPR and First Aid Provider Certifications. Knowledge of rehabilitative therapy and techniques, and exercise science as they relate to sports medicine. Duty Days 187
Salary Range:
From/To As per State Matrix, depending on degree and experience. Bachelor's beginning pay - $47,600.00 Additional Job Information •Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.•
