Job Description

About the Role Athletic Republic North Phoenix continues to grow, and we are adding an experienced trainer to support the increasing number of youth athletes in our programs. We are seeking a part‑time coach with a proven background in developing young athletes , particularly in speed, agility, and strength training. This role is suited for someone who has spent meaningful time coaching in structured athletic environments and understands how to teach movement at a high standard. Our coaching staff is made up of mature, experienced professionals who bring both athletic and coaching credibility to the floor. The athletes we train range from elementary‑age kids to competitive teenagers, and the coach in this role must be able to manage different age groups, adjust instruction appropriately, and maintain a strong, authoritative presence throughout every session. This is an active, hands‑on coaching position . You will be teaching proper running mechanics, lifting technique, jumping progressions, and safe, effective use of training equipment. The role requires someone who can command a group, deliver clear instruction, and keep athletes engaged and moving with purpose. A passive or casual approach to coaching is not compatible with our environment. Parents trust us with their children, and athletes look to us for leadership, structure, and confidence. We are looking for a coach who understands that responsibility and brings professionalism, consistency, and genuine investment in athlete development. Key Responsibilities Training and Coaching Coach youth athletes in speed mechanics including acceleration, running form, and top end speed Teach agility, change of direction, and plyometric progressions Instruct proper strength and weight lifting technique with a focus on safety and form Lead small group and one on one sessions using Athletic Republic protocols Provide clear coaching cues and consistent corrections Keep athletes moving with purpose and eliminate idle time Adjust drills based on age, ability, and individual needs Youth Athlete Engagement Bring visible energy and enthusiasm to every session Build rapport with kids and create a positive, confidence building environment Maintain strong group management and ensure every athlete receives attention Demonstrate patience, leadership, and the ability to connect with young athletes Model professionalism and emotional control at all times Professionalism and Communication Communicate clearly and respectfully with athletes, parents, and teammates Provide parents with confidence through professionalism and consistency Respond to feedback with maturity and a willingness to improve Represent the brand with reliability and integrity Preparation and Operations Arrive fully prepared and ready to coach before sessions begin Set up and reset equipment and maintain a clean, safe training environment Assist with athlete assessments and progress tracking Complete assigned tasks during downtime and follow facility procedures Required Qualifications Hands on coaching experience with youth athletes Experience coaching speed, agility, and proper weight lifting technique Strong ability to teach movement and keep kids engaged Excellent communication skills with a positive and encouraging style High energy and a proactive coaching approach CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it Ability to work Saturday mornings and other flexible hours Reliable, professional, and committed to athlete safety and supervision Personality Traits That Succeed Here We are looking for someone who is: A teacher at heart who enjoys helping kids grow Energetic and fully engaged from start to finish Confident and clear when giving instruction Structured and disciplined with strong attention to detail Observant and proactive with constant scanning and correcting Team oriented and aligned with a high standard coaching culture Calm, composed, and open to feedback A role model who understands the impact they have on young athletes This role requires someone who understands that we are shaping more than athletes. $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
