Duties & Responsibilities Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses. Assist with first aid and emergency care for student-athletes during practices and competitions. Assist with injury management, and emergency care for acute injuries, ensuring the safety and well-being of student-athletes. Evaluate and treat athletic injuries and assist with injury prevention programs. Assist the athletic trainers with daily treatment and rehabilitation of student-athletes to promote optimal recovery and functional restoration for injured student-athletes. Assist with the coverage of the athletic training room; including the coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions. Assist the athletic trainers with medical record keeping. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, injury reports, treatment logs, and progress notes for student-athletes, adhering to HIPAA and regulations and institutional policies. Budget accountability. Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to operate office machinery (fax machines, computer, telephone, etc.). Ability to work with computer programs such as Excel and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions. Dedication and motivation to initiate, lead and support value-added projects. Meticulous attention to detail. Knowledge of position related NCAA, Big 12, and University of Arizona rules and compliance. Fosters a collaborative work environment through respectful and effective communication. Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities and successfully manage multiple priority projects. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, and project a positive, professional attitude. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and travel as needed.
