Position Responsibilities Care for injuries using therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques. Evaluate readiness to return to daily activities, and coordinate clearances when necessary. Provide athletic training outreach and medical care to assigned location. Responsible for athletic training special event coverage when scheduled. Maintain a line of communication with the team physician(s) regarding athletic health care and recommended treatment/rehabilitation for all athletic injuries. Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room. Maintain communication with parents on the care & treatment of their student-athlete. File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents. Maintain a daily treatment log. Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up-to-date inventory. Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
Experience:
Required:
No previous experience required.
Preferred:
2 years' experience as a certified athletic trainer.
Education:
Required:
Degree in athletic training/sports medicine from CAATE approved institution.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in related field.
Special Qualifications:
Required:
NATA certification in good standing. Valid Driver's License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding. Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment. Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements. Knowledge of the AthenaNet and medical specialty/terminology. Current state license in Athletic Training. This position may require irregular work hours Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. This position may require travel to and from satellite clinics as assigned. Please note, if assigned for travel, this position will require a valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire (MVR will be screened on an annual basis).
