Certified Athletic Trainer - Northwest Nazarene University The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will work in a professional or collegiate sports environment, supporting athletes during practices, competitions, and return-to-play activities. This role partners closely with coaches, team management, and sports medicine physicians, and collaborates with the Outreach Athletic Trainer Supervisor on day-to-day sports medicine operations. The ATC is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and conditioning of athletes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in athletic training (Master's degree preferred) Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC) Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as an Athletic Trainer in Idaho or Oregon Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience as a head or assistant athletic trainer in a professional, major junior, or collegiate/university setting Key Responsibilities Demonstrate and uphold the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in all interactions and decision-making Assist in managing athlete healthcare, including: Assist in managing athlete healthcare, including: Injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment Emergency care and first aid Rehabilitation and return-to-play programming Implementation of therapeutic modalities Provide coverage for practices, games, and training sessions Coordinate hydration, recovery, and performance support strategies Travel with the team as needed and maintain availability for exclusive service with Saint Alphonsus Sports Medicine Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment Accurately document all injuries, evaluations, treatments, physician diagnoses, and return-to-play timelines in the electronic medical record (EMR) system Organize and track required physical examinations per league regulations Manage athlete health records and roster data within the EMR system Order and maintain clinical supplies and equipment inventory Support the implementation of nutrition and hydration protocols for athletes
