Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Training Services and the guidance of the Team Physicians, this position will perform properly and efficiently, to the best of their ability and consistent with the standards of the University of Idaho, all duties and responsibilities for the health care of student-athletes; to include coordination of care, prevention, and rehabilitation services to student athletes; and involvement in clinical education, supervision, and mentoring of Athletic Training students in the Athletic Training Education Program. Focus on Mens Football and other assigned sports.
Required Experience:
Division I Football athletic training experience Working with students, coaches and administrative personnel in a broad range of medical situations
Required Education:
Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field
Required Other:
Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer Eligible for State of Idaho Board of Medicine licensure as an Athletic Trainer Possess, or obtains within 6 months of hire, Instructors Certificate for Basic Life Support Provider (ICBLSP)
Additional Preferred:
Previous athletic training experience as a full-time/intern (non-GA) Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level, particularly having had a primary sport responsibility, including team travel Previous experience as a rehabilitation coordinator within a division 1 athletic department Previous experience in athletic training room organization and administrative duties, including Substance Abuse Testing/educational programs Proven ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, staff, and medical professionals Demonstrated ability to work in stressful situations Athletic Training patient care philosophy consistent with Director of Athletic Training Services Proven ability to contribute to athletic training students educational experience, both academically and clinically Previous experience as an Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI) in an approved Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) Previous experience with
