Job Description
Lake Forest Academy seeks a full-time assistant athletic trainer to start in August 2026. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, screenings, injury prevention programs, athletic consults, injury assessment, and treatment and case management of injured athletes undergoing rehabilitation. This position reports to the athletic director and Head Athletic Trainer. Licensure and certification from NATA and BOC are required for employment. The Assistant Athletic Trainer (AAT) is a salaried position, working the months of August through May. Opportunities to earn additional income may be available during the summer months through individual summer camps at LFA.
General overview of responsibilities:
Assist with daily operating hours (TBD by Athletic Director & Head Athletic Trainer) for the athletic training facility and manage the setup of water and medical needs around LFA s athletic facilities (practices and contests). Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Provide assistance to students in the prevention of athletic injuries. Identify, evaluate, and provide immediate first aid in response to athletic injuries. Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning programs for injured students. Operate a variety of first aid, rehabilitation, and adaptive equipment. Provide reports to coaches and treatment plans on injuries to LFA coaches. Collaborate with the Health Center, the Dean of Students (DoS), and appropriate faculty members regarding injuries, rehabilitation, schedules, and academic/daily needs for injured student-athletes, including LFA s return-to-play concussion program. Adhere to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations regarding confidential student information. Establish and cultivate working relationships with a designated team physician, community physicians, and local physical therapists. Establish and cultivate working relationships with local colleges & universities to secure possible interns for the Athletic Training team. Help manage possible interns and student helpers. Work with the Health & Wellness Department to develop and disseminate nutritional guidelines for athletes and provide continuing education on nutrition for both coaches and athletes Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director, as needed. This is a full-time salaried position and eligible for full benefits, with a salary range between $40,000 and $50,000. While school is in session, the AAT is eligible for 10 days of personal time off (PTO) per school year, in addition to school breaks when students are not on campus. Additional income may be available during the summer months through individual summer camps.
