To Be Determined Job Description Liberal High School and USD 480 is seeking a Full Time Certified Athletic Trainer and CTE Instructor. Qualified candidate will serve as the Athletic Trainer for all interscholastic sports as well as limited Health Science course teaching during the school day. Liberal High School is a Kansas Class 6A/5A school with approximately 400 student athletes competing over 15 sports. An importance is placed on the health and well-being of our athletes and our sports medicine department. Position available for immediate start.
Salary:
$71,619 - $102,093 with Masters degree and based on experience, with the possibility for additional stipend.
ATHLETIC TRAINER
The Health Care Provider will be involved in the following: Prevention of athletic injuries; Recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries; Rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries; and Professional development and responsibility Actively attend after school sporting events and practices as assigned by, but not limited to the Athletic Director Examples of work include, but are not limited to, the following: Keep athletes from getting hurt through preventative medicine and healthy training practices Utilize appropriate techniques to effectively assess and treat athletic injuries ? Facilitate and perform rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries ? Develop and cultivate contacts with referring physicians, businesses, schools, coaches and other referral sources; provide services based on written referrals from medical providers Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and referrals Provide services for practices, home and some away athletic contests, and post-season athletic contests Provide education in the areas of: sports injury prevention and care nutrition and exercise healthy lifestyles exercise regimens Complete all documentation in a timely manner Promote safe and appropriate practice and competition Review student physicals and releases to ensure authenticity Participate in the development and implementation of an emergency action plan ? Participate in the development and implementation of a comprehensive athletic health care system Maintain a neat and orderly athletic training room Maintain communication between athletes and parents Perform other duties as assigned
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING
Establish good communication and work well with staff, students, the public, and supervisors Order medical supplies/equipment based on need Maintain confidentiality Possess the physical ability to perform job requirements Maintain electronic inventory and utilize the school district's electronic supply/equipment process Other duties as assigned
CTE INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Teach assigned subjects utilizing course of study materials, and other appropriate learning activities adopted by the Board of Directors and specified in state law. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, and provides individualized and small group instruction, in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. 3. Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Measures and evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. Communicates with parents, counselors, and other staff through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and interpret the school program. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems. Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers. Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities. Selects and requisitions books and instructional materials; maintains required inventory records, and may request other resources, speakers and field trips. Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day. 12. Participates in curriculum development programs as required. Participates in District and site-based committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
