Certified Athletic Trainer - Physician Extender

Performs direct athletic training services to patients in accordance with generally accepted athletic training standards, State of Maryland Athletic Training Practice Act, code of ethics, and departmental procedures for Orthopedic Hand and Shoulder surgeons. Under the supervision of a physician, and in accordance with the quality standards of the department, provides one-on-one clinic care as needed; and other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in Athletic Training required Current Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Maryland. Two years of experience in a physician office or hospital preferred Working knowledge of managed care basics, and experience working with a managed care and Medicare population Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications Knowledge of practice management and word processing software Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor Good communication skills Total Rewards The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
