Full-time, Contract About Us Befitting You Medical Supply is a growing, patient-centered Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider specializing in orthotics, prosthetics, and bracing solutions. We are proud to partner with a leading orthopedic practice in Midland, MI to deliver high-quality care directly within their clinical setting. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Orthotic Fitter to join our team onsite at a busy orthopedic practice in Midland, MI. Working alongside a dedicated orthopedics physician and their clinical team, the Orthotic Fitter will evaluate patients, fit them with appropriate braces and supports, and ensure the highest level of comfort, safety, and compliance. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals looking to build hands-on clinical experience in an orthopedic office environment. You will work directly with patients on a daily basis, gaining valuable exposure to orthopedic conditions, treatment plans, and the physician-patient care process. This role is an excellent fit for physical therapy technicians, athletic trainers, or anyone with a background in sports medicine or rehabilitation who is looking to grow their career in a clinical setting. Key Responsibilities Perform patient assessments, measurements, and fittings for orthopedic braces and supports (upper extremity, lower extremity, and spine as applicable). Collaborate directly with the onsite orthopedics physician and clinical staff to ensure prescribed orthotic devices meet patient needs and clinical indications. Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use, care, and wearing schedule of devices. Document all encounters, measurements, and fittings in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements. Assist with inventory management and ordering of orthotic devices and supplies. Provide excellent customer service and represent the DME company professionally within the orthopedic practice. Backgrounds that translate well into this position include: Background Why It's a Great Fit Physical Therapy Technician Direct patient care experience and familiarity with orthopedic conditions and rehabilitation Athletic Trainer Strong foundation in musculoskeletal anatomy, bracing, and injury management Sports Medicine or Rehab Professional Practical knowledge of orthopedic devices and patient education DME or Medical Supply Experience Existing understanding of insurance documentation and device fitting Qualifications Certified Fitter of Orthotics (ABC or BOC) preferred; willing to train the right candidate with relevant clinical experience. Prior experience in DME, orthopedics, physical therapy, athletic training, or rehabilitation settings is a plus. Strong communication skills with patients, caregivers, and clinical staff. Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative healthcare team.
