Job Summary and Qualifications The Head Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) is an ancillary health care provider and principle member of the sports medicine team. Exercises leadership responsibilities through the delivery of a comprehensive athletic health care program for 2+ school districts (2+ high schools and 2+ middle schools) by obtaining clinical outcomes and organizational objectives consistent with the objectives for the Department as set forth by Leadership. Clinical responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and therapeutic intervention of emergent, acute, and chronic athletic injuries and illnesses and making return-to-play decisions. Mentors the staff Athletic Trainers, leads the student aide programs, and precepts athletic training students.
What qualifications you will need:
Required Experience:
Three (3) years of direct patient care, with two (2) years in athletic setting, including high risk, collision sports experience. Demonstrated effective communication, reliability, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient with injury tracking surveillance system, neurocognitive testing, Office programs, data entry, and internet functions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Preceptor or teaching experience
Preferred Experience:
Clinical experiences working with minors. Acute & chronic injury, post- operative rehabilitation experience. Ability to conceptualize and prioritize objectives based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Critical thinking skills and proficiency in organizing resources
Required Degree:
Master's degree
Required License:
BLS. National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (ATC) North Carolina Athletic Training License (LAT) or within 60 days ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer (ITAT) or within 90 days
