Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Educates, advises and treats local high school athletes. To maintain maximum health and performance for participation in physical activities and athletic competition through prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Work in collaboration with team physician, in accordance with state statutes, rules and regulations. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
Bachelor's Degree in an accredited Athletic Training program, and certified or certification eligible by the National Athletic Trainers' Association or by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). BLS Certification; recertification required annually. May require valid NC Driver's license and access to use of an automobile. Current North Carolina license or license eligible.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in an accredited Athletic Training program, and certified or certification eligible by the National Athletic Trainers' Association or by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
: Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to unique needs of adolescent and adult patients. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
