St. Pius X School serves God in Communion with the Roman Catholic Church by fostering moral, social, and intellectual growth within a college preparatory setting to teach young people to be ethical leaders in service to others. Position Summary The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive sports medicine services to student-athletes in grades 6-12 at St. Pius X School. This includes the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, as well as the promotion of overall student wellness. The Athletic Trainer supports the mission of the school by fostering a safe, respectful, and values-driven athletic environment that emphasizes the development of the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide on-site athletic training services for middle and upper school athletic programs, including practices and competitions Evaluate and manage athletic injuries, including immediate care, treatment plans, and rehabilitation protocols Develop and implement injury prevention programs and conditioning strategies Coordinate emergency action plans and respond to medical emergencies as needed Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for student-athletes Communicate effectively with coaches, parents, school administrators, and healthcare providers regarding student-athlete health and participation status Oversee and maintain athletic training facilities, equipment, and supplies Coordinate referrals to physicians and specialists when appropriate Educate student-athletes on topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, hydration, and overall wellness Ensure compliance with school policies, NMAA regulations, and state/local health and safety guidelines Assist with pre-participation physicals and medical clearance processes Support the scheduling and coverage of athletic events, including evenings and weekends Mission and Community Responsibilities Uphold and model the values and teachings of the Catholic Church and the school's mission in interactions with students and the school community Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful athletic culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and character development Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field (Master's degree preferred) Current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers Current state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) CPR/AED and First Aid certification required Strong knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation techniques Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during practices and events Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs.) Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Work Schedule Full-time position with a variable schedule including afternoons, evenings, and weekends in alignment with the athletic calendar.Pay:
