  • Friday What you will do: Under the supervision of the physician, provides direct care and performs selected functions for orthopedic patients of all ages in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Position may require working at either campus or alternate sites. The DME Coordinator will be responsible for managing the inventory, fitting, training, and billing of orthopedic DME supplies, as well as applying and removing casts and splints.
Responsibilities:
The DME Coordinator's tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Fit and educate patients on the use of orthopedic DME, including braces, walkers, boots, and supports.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed while consistently reviewing market value for best cost.
  • Maintain strong relationships with outside vendors and within the trinity system.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of DME dispensed in the patient medical record.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorization when required.
  • Work with billing staff to ensure accurate coding and charge capture for DME while performing quarterly audits.
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare and third-party payer regulations regarding DME.
  • Apply, remove, and adjust orthopedic casts, splints and braces under physician direction.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on proper cast care, precautions, and follow-up instructions.
  • Monitor and report any complications related to bracing or casting.
  • Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies to maintain hygienic standards.
  • Deliver equipment to the patient's hospital room if required and provide education on equipment usage, fall risk prevention, financial obligations and provide all appropriate documentation for patient review and signature.

High school diploma or GED; Completion of an accredited program associated with license (LPN, RN, ATC, Orthopedic R.S.A) License in the applicable state(s) of engagement.

30 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
