Qualifications Certified Athletic Trainer Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the delivery of sports medicine services to student-athletes under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer and/or team physician. This role focuses on injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation while ensuring a safe and healthy athletic environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses Provide first aid and emergency care during practices, games, and events Design and implement rehabilitation and return-to-play programs for injured athletes Support daily operation of the athletic training room , including treatment schedules and athlete care Maintain accurate medical records, injury reports, and treatment documentation Communicate athlete status and recovery plans with coaches, physicians, and staff Assist with practice and game coverage , including travel as needed Fit and apply protective equipment, braces, and taping techniques Monitor athlete readiness and help guide safe return-to-play decisions Assist in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and inventory of training equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) State licensure (or eligibility) Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification Strong knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation practices Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel with teams
