Primary Purpose:
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the coordination of coverage for all athletic and designated UIL programs as needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
Education/Certification:
Current SBISD student in good standing.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide emergency care under supervision of Lead Athletic Trainer. Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and ability to apply appropriate treatment to treat student athletic injuries under supervision of Lead Athletic Trainer. Ability to follow district guidelines and protocols and to actively communicate with all necessary parties at an athletic event site when on duty and whenever a student injury arises at an athletic event.
Experience:
Currently a student trainer enrolled in SBISD for at least 1 school year.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Support:
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents including medical, accident, and treatment records as required.
Other:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Various office equipment depending on assignment.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Work outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather) and inside. Exposed to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases under the supervision of the Head Trainer. Frequent district wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
