Job Description

Assistant Athletic Trainer- Liberty University Club Sports
JOB SUMMARY
This is a full-time position with full benefits through Collaborative Health Partners to provide athletic training services to Liberty University club sports. Sports assignments could include hockey and wrestling, but other sports may also be included. Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the Athletic Trainer will be responsible for working alongside the Sports Medicine team to prevent, evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries for all club sports athletes in addition to providing support for home events and assigned teams travel coverage. This position will be responsible for documentation and data entry as well as communication with coaches, athletes, and physicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Aid in the supervision of the general health and well-being of club sports student athletes. 2. Data Collection and Entry in the EMR system. 3. Medical coverage of games and other club sports events including travel as scheduled. 4. Injury and concussion management for club sports student athletes. 5. Facilitating communication between athletes, coaches, and health care professionals. 6. Communicating with sports performance department regarding best practices and the care of the student athlete. 7. Supervision of athletic training students during clinic and game coverage to ensure a positive educational experience. 8. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks. 9. Other administrative tasks assigned by senior staff 10. Complete assigned teams eligibility paperwork and attend the team meetings to assist in full compliance
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience:
A bachelors or master's degree in athletic training. Current BOC certification and VA Board of Medicine Licensure and NPI number is required. Well-developed communication skills.
