The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for performing specific physical therapy procedures and related tasks under the plan of care of a physical therapist.
Responsibilities:

Assist patients in the clinic by providing skilled therapy to help improve mobility, relieve pain and gain strength under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Fulfill patient treatment and procedures such as exercises, manual therapy and the use of modalities in the clinic setting. Evaluate, advise, and treat athletes to assist recovery from injury, avoid injury, or maintain peak physical fitness. Document patient treatment. Evaluate athletes' readiness to play and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted. Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, or braces to body parts. Collaborate with physicians and physical therapists in order to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation. Inform athletes and families of important aspects of athlete's present condition, including concussion, wound care, first aide and follow-up care. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in athletic training from accredited program. Master's degree preferred. BOC Certification by the N.A.T.A. (National Athletic Training Association) reguired. Eligible for state of Washington Department of Health licensure as an Athletic Trainer. BLS Certification. Minimum of one year of progressive clinical experience. Master's degree in appropriate field may be substituted for required experience. Knowledge in the recognition, prevention, and treatment of athletic injuries. Knowledge of medical practice policies/procedures, regulations, safety/injection control, universal precautions and quality assurance requirements. Skill in appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients. Skill in using therapy equipment by consistently using devices appropriately to improve patient health status. Ability to communicate interpersonally in order to educate patients about their therapy treatments. Ability to analyze data and modify treatment plans as appropriate Ability to demonstrate compassion and desire to help patients.
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Frequent lifting; Must be able to lift, move or assist patients weighing up to 300 pounds or more with help of other staff members using proper body mechanics. Frequent carrying of 20-30 pounds for distances of 100-200 feet. Frequent pushing/pulling, bending, crouching, crawling, squatting, getting in awkward positions and stair-climbing. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for staff and patient safety. Limited exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Proud to
