Diagnose degrees of communicion disorders creed by hearing loss and other potentially complicing factors. Manage the Hearing Program and the Hearing Readiness Support for the organizion. Perform pient assessments and evaluions in accordance with clinic standard opering procedures Counsels' pients or parents for pediric pient to provide instruction in the use of hearing aids. Use approprie regulory guidance to determine eligibility for care as it reles to active duty, retired service members and their families. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determinion, as determined by a completed background investigion. A Personnel Security Investigion is required. This position may have specific initial background investigion and periodic re-verificion requirements since its duties may require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis. Selectees may be required to sign a stement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinions or must provide a recognized exemption. This position is a Testing Designed Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees required to consent to participion in random drug urinalysis testing. A pre-placement medical examinion may be required. Immunizion screening may be required. Hepitis B immunizion is required for all positions with direct pient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizions depending on the type of position. May be required to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificion through the American Red Cross or American Heart Associion. Advanced certificion (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain approprie/relevant clinical privileges. This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules. Degree :
A gradue degree (or higher level degree) th included 18 semester hours in the field of audiology with approved clinical practice from an educion program th was approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accredition in Audiology and Speech-Language Phology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associion (ASHA) the time the degree was obtained. Applicants must possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Audiology in a Ste, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United Stes. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualificion requirements listed below:Specialized Experience :
One year of specialized experience which evaluing audiology pients; implementing audiology trement plans; and providing consultive assistance to other medical trement facilities in rehabilitive audiology.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your educion for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualificion requirement using experience alone- no substitution of educion for experience is permitted.
