Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Position exists in the Medical Department. Responsible for coordinating audiological services for individuals at Porterville Developmental Center (PDC) by administering specialized measuring devices and tests for identification of hearing impairment to the developmentally disabled. Under direction, administers diagnostic tests to identify individuals with hearing impairments and to determine the nature and extent of hearing disorders. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The incumbent must possess and maintain sufficient strength (lift up to 50 pounds without assistance), agility, endurance and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Ongoing interaction with individuals, personnel and the general public. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment. Position may require prolonged standing, stooping, bending, lifting, repetitive hand movements, and use of pneumatic hand tools. This position is designated as Work Week Group (WWG)

Permanent, Full Time Department Information The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
