Job Summary Responsible for selecting and fitting hearing aids for customers. Administers and interprets tests of hearing. Assesses hearing instrument efficacy. Takes ear impressions and prepares, designs, and modifies ear molds. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions- Cochlear implant evaluations and programming.
- Tinnitus evaluations, counseling, and treatment.
- Monitor patients' progress and provide ongoing observation of hearing or balance status.
- Fit, dispense, and repair assistive devices, such as hearing aids.
- Educates patients, caregivers, and family members on treatment options and continuing care.
- Research causes and potential treatments for hearing and balance disorders. Qualifications Education Doctorate Audiology required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Audiologist [State License]
- required Basic Life Support [BLS]
- preferred Experience Audiology or Hearing Testing experience 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong patient/customer service skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- DPOAE, ABR, ENG/VNG, hearing aid evaluation, dispensing and follow-up, and using electronic health records for documentation.
