Job Description

The Division of Audiology at Henry Ford Health System is now accepting applications for four final-year AuD externship positions. Externs train at four Detroit-area medical centers and/or hospitals for a full calendar year, starting June 2027. The experience includes the provision of a full range of audiologic services to patients of all ages. Diagnostic services include behavioral and electrophysiological assessment of hearing and balance function; treatment services include the selection, fitting and verification of hearing aid amplification and other assistive and implantable devices. Externs are encouraged to participate in clinic-based research. Enrollment in an Au.

D. program and a strong desire to join a team environment. Henry Ford Health System has agreed to follow The Audiology Clinical Education Network timeline.

Yes Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: Students should be comfortable with basic audiometric exams. They should have a high level of motivation and professionalism. Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: Students will gain confidence and refinement of clinical skills related to all aspects of audiological services listed above while demonstrating dependability and motivation to learn from supportive supervisors.
