TERMS:
This part time position is 200 days at 4 hours per day. Personal business days, holidays, and sick time paid. Retirement through the Office of Retirement Services (Pension Plus or Defined Contribution).
SALARY RANGE
This position is on the nonunion, school year professional scale, $27,999.52-$42,604.40 on the BA scale. Lanes available for BA+20, MA, MA+30, and
MA+60. GENERAL JOB FUNCTION
The Educational Audiologist provides comprehensive hearing services to students from birth through age 26. As a key member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET), this position will perform diagnostic testing, technology management, educational support and consult with educators and families to ensure an accessible learning environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Work attendance is essential; Perform audiological assessments and educationally relevant Deaf and Hard of Hearing evaluations to assess auditory and communication skills of students Collaborate with clinical audiologists and ENT to obtain relevant medical reports necessary for D/HH eligibility, HAT medical clearance and assist with parental follow-up with clinical recommendations Interprets evaluation results for teachers, parents and other staff Consults with support staff and parents regarding educational implications of a D/HH eligibility Conducts auditory training for staff who work directly with students who have a D/HH eligibility Selects, sets and maintains appropriate HAT equipment Completes HAT validation and verification procedures on HAT devices Inspects and performs preventative maintenance for a variety of HAT equipment Makes earmold impressions for HAT equipment Assist staff and students in appropriate use of HAT Provides educational consultation and participates in educational staffings Collaborates with Teacher Consultants for the D/HH in the LEA and center-based programs Collaborates with MAISD Program for Students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing Direct supervision of the Audio Tech Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Special Education & D/HH Program Coordinator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree in Audiology (Master's or Doctorate/Au.

D) from an accredited college or university Valid Michigan Audiologist License issued by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) No physical or mental restrictions that would, with reasonable accommodation, prevent performance of the essential job functions and responsibilities. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the general public while maintaining student confidentiality Adequate knowledge of spreadsheet, google calendar, and email in order to perform the duties required of the position
NOTABLE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Standing/Walking up to 6 hours per day 2. Sitting up to 1 hour per day 3. Lifting up to 35 pounds 2 to 3 times per hour for 7 hours 4. Fine motor skills required to do things such as write, pick up small objects, assist student with buckles and snaps 5. Gross motor skills required to do things such as shift weight from foot to foot while balancing a load with hands and arms, lift large objects, and lift limbs of student 6. May be required to pass a MAISD-paid physical examination and/or back x-ray before an unconditional offer of employment can be made.
TYPICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
Most work is accomplished in an office setting and occasionally in a classroom environment, at community job sites or in a community based instructional site.

Interpersonal Skills - Strong interpersonal skills are vital to ensure effective relationships with the teacher, other team members and parents and students.
WORK LOCATION
(S): Work may be performed in multiple locations, however, the main office location will be within the MAISD North Building.

Travel may be periodically necessary to and from instructional sites or to meetings or conferences in the area.
