Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide and interpret comprehensive audiological evaluations including but not limited to: audiometry, tympanometry, Otoacoustic emissions, acoustic reflex testing, and electro/video nystagmography. Also provide hearing aid evaluation, fitting and maintenance.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Master's degree in Audiology or graduate from an Au.D program.
Experience:
Three years of audiology experience in a physician practice setting preferred but not required.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of auditory equipment and measuring instruments. Must be able to make sound, independent judgments and demonstrate concepts of healthcare team collaboration. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of auditory equipment and procedures, protocols and safety hazards common to administering auditory tests and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures. Excellent prioritizing and problem solving skills. Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment problems and perform simple adjustments.License/Certification/Registration:
Current Pennsylvania license in Audiology. Must meet and maintain the American Heart Association's standard for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Requires working in varied settings including exam and audiology rooms. May require working in close quarters.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires full range body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires a combination of sitting, walking, bending, reaching, lifting and manipulation of patients.Similar jobs in Altoona, PA
