Job Description

Category Schools - Audiologist Job Type Contract An excellent opportunity awaits a skilled audiologist passionate about supporting young learners. This contract position involves collaborating with a kindergarten student who has a cochlear implant in one ear and normal hearing in the other. The successful candidate will conduct a thorough evaluation in the fall and provide actionable recommendations regarding the appropriate type and frequency of services to ensure the student's academic and social success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid licensing and credentials as an Audiologist Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly preferred Familiarity with cochlear implants and their educational implications Comfortable collaborating with students, families, educators, and related support personnel Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to write clear, comprehensive reports and recommendations
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the incoming kindergarten student with a cochlear implant and normal hearing in the opposite ear Assess the impact of the hearing difference on classroom performance and participation Provide recommendations for the type and amount of support or intervention services necessary for optimal learning Consult with teachers of the deaf, general education staff, and family members to ensure holistic understanding and accommodations Remain up-to-date with best practices in hearing screening and interventions for school-aged children Document findings and recommendations in accordance with school or district protocols This contract assignment offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young student, helping set the stage for a successful educational journey.
