Job Description
Overview Sami's Angels ABA is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work 1:1 with a child exhibiting maladaptive behaviors . If you are passionate about helping children grow, improve behavior, and gain independence—this is a highly rewarding, hands-on role.
Join our dynamic team as a Behavior Technician (BT) / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where you will play a vital role in supporting children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. This energetic position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions, fostering growth, and promoting independence. You will work closely with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, structured support that enhances quality of life. Paid training and ongoing professional development are integral parts of this rewarding role. Duties Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote positive behaviors and skill development. Collect and analyze data on client progress to inform treatment adjustments and ensure effective outcomes. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, feeding, toileting, and other self-care routines. Support clients in educational settings by applying teaching strategies aligned with special education practices. Maintain accurate medical documentation, behavioral records, and care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and legal standards. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to provide consistent support and reinforce behavioral goals across environments. Contribute to a safe and nurturing environment by managing behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies. Requirements Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and data collection methods. Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies for individuals with autism or other developmental delays. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients' families and multidisciplinary teams. Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude towards supporting behavioral health goals. Must be willing to undergo background checks and complete required training for certification as an RBT if not already certified.
