- 27 per hour Position Summary The Behavior Technician contracted through Amergis supports students with behavioral, social-emotional, and communication needs in a school setting.
Under the direction of credentialed staff and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), the technician implements Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies, behavior intervention plans, and data-driven supports to promote student success and independence. Key Responsibilities ABA Implementation — Provide direct 1:1 or small-group behavioral support using evidence-based ABA strategies. Behavior Intervention Plans — Implement BIPs with fidelity, including reinforcement systems, prompting, shaping, and de-escalation strategies. Data Collection — Record accurate, ongoing behavioral and skill-acquisition data for BCBA and teacher review. Student Support — Assist students in accessing curriculum, transitions, communication systems, and social-emotional regulation. Collaboration — Work closely with teachers, BCBAs, school psychologists, and related service providers to maintain consistent support. Crisis Prevention — Utilize district-approved de-escalation techniques to maintain safety and support student regulation. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 6 months of ABA experience (clinic, home, or school setting). High school diploma required; AA/BA preferred. Experience supporting students with autism, emotional/behavioral needs, or developmental disabilities. Ability to follow structured behavior plans and collect accurate data. Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
