Job Description

BEAM Elementary School, Danbury, CT Major Responsibilities & Requirements:
  • Provide patient and supportive instructional assistance to students with diverse academic and behavioral needs
  • Experience with the implementation of a Behavior Intervention Plan
  • Identify areas and possible solutions to maximize the fidelity of data collection and the implementation of interventions
  • Collection of, and ongoing maintenance of, behavioral and instructional data
  • Proactive communication and collaboration with the school team
  • Strong understanding of the barriers to learning for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a proven ability to apply positive reinforcement techniques to bridge developmental gaps
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must have taken and passed the ParaPro test or have 2 years post-secondary education (minimum 60 credits) or Associates Degree or higher
  • Must hold a current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or be willing to immediately participate in coursework and training to become an RBT
  • Excellent professionalism and communication skills
  • Consistent attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Prior experience working directly with elementary school-age students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a clinical, home, or school setting is highly preferred.
  • Ability to withstand the physical demands of frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and physical management intervention

$25.00 - $29.00 per hour
