Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students by working as a valued Behavior Technician in a rewarding school-based setting near Hartford, CT. This full-time, contract opportunity offers you the chance to provide meaningful assistance to students on the Autism Spectrum and those experiencing behavioral challenges. Work in a collaborative environment where your expertise and dedication to student development truly matter. Your role will focus on both individualized (1:1) support and classroom assistance, helping students achieve their goals throughout the academic day. Hours are 8am to 3pm, totaling 31 hours/week, providing the benefits of steady, predictable scheduling.
Key Qualifications:
At least 2+ years of direct experience in behavioral or special education support Experience as a Paraprofessional or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is highly valued Background in working with students on the Autism Spectrum and those with behavioral challenges Ability to provide patient, compassionate support to help students succeed in academic and social settings Strong collaboration skills to work with instructional teams and related service providers
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 guidance and intervention to help students manage behaviors and participate in classroom activities Support classroom routines and maintain a positive environment Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement behavior intervention plans Track student progress and assist with data collection for ongoing assessment In addition to making a positive impact, you'll enjoy competitive hourly compensation ($18-24/hr), plus access to insurance benefits and a 401k retirement plan.
