Job Description

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Job Summary :
The Behavior Technician position supports and implements a patient care plan created by a board-certified behavior analyst. If not already certified, the behavior technician will complete a 40-hour certification course and take the Registered Behavior Technician Exam provided by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. The Behavior Technician works with individuals diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder between the ages of 2 and 21, implementing Applied Behavior Analysis interventions that encourage socially acceptable replacement behaviors to help clients build and improve communication, motor, social interaction, academic, and problem-solving skills. What this looks like in practice varies greatly because behavioral therapy is specific to an individual's needs. Responsibilities and Duties Actively work with individuals (2 years to 21 years of age) diagnosed with ASD. All Treatment will be implemented primarily center-based, providing direct client care individual sessions and group sessions. Implement principles of applied behavior analysis to help learners achieve individual goals by following behavior reduction programs and behavioral skill acquisition protocols. Implement customized therapy plans tailored to each child's unique treatment needs. Help children develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and vocationally through appropriate programming and education. Help children progress in educational and social settings and prepare learners to generalize all skills within the natural environment. Maintains all mandatory certifications as required by Try Love Behavioral Center. (CPR, first aid, CPI, etc.) Acts as a positive role model for all staff, families, and children working with Try Love Behavioral Center. Maintains client confidentiality per Try Love Behavioral Center, LLC. policy and HIPAA Privacy Regulations. Attends and assists with set-up for mandatory special events (family nights, group sessions, public relation affairs, and fundraisers). Collaborate with a team of like-minded individuals dedicated to helping every individual reach their maximum potential.
Requirements:
Required :
High School Diploma/GED A college degree in any field and relevant work experience. (Preferred) Registered Behavior Technician Certification (Preferred) Must have a passion and a heart for children with developmental and behavioral challenges. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask. Excellent time management skills. Ability to develop strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Must be willing to complete specialized Registered Behavior Technician coursework (40 hours) and competency testing, as well as all orientation and training, if not yet acquired.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting/Carrying more than 50 lbs. Able to sustain impact to the body (i.e., being hit, kicked, etc.) in any area. Running, crouching, squatting, and the ability to kneel for sustained periods. Bending at the waist to touch knees and toes. Full range of motion of hands and arms. Sitting on the floor and chair for long periods. Ability to move quickly from standing to seated or kneeling position without support. Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License. Must have the ability to be very empathetic and committed to receiving ongoing training and development.
