Full Job Description Job Title:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

RBT Benefits:
  • Pay rate rages from $19-25 per hour based on experience, level of education and certifications

  • Supervision by Board Certified Behavior Analyst that meets BACB requirements for Supervised Independent Fieldwork
  • Annual performance appraisal with raise opportunities
RBT Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized treatment plans as written and directed by BCBA/BCaBA with children and young adults ages 2-26 diagnosed with autism
  • Document client progress through portal system by recording data
  • Complete required session and scheduling documentation
  • Attend scheduled trainings and team meetings
  • Uphold professional ethics as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) RBT Ethics Code
  • Uphold best practices, and the mission, vision, and values of BASES Autism Services as outlined by the Staff Handbook Required Qualifications and Skills of an
RBT:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Age 21 or older (still encouraged to apply if between the ages of 18-21)
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to meet Illinois' driving requirements with dependable means of transportation
  • RBT Certification
  • Demonstrate ability to implement ABA strategies outlined on the RBT Task List
  • Safety-Care or Safety-Care for Families Specialist Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment
  • Works both independently as well as part of a team
  • Empathetic and supportive with staff, clients and families Work Environment and Physical Demands of an
RBT:
  • Ability to stand and move around, get up and down from the floor or a chair, and otherwise able to play with a child for several hours at a time
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students
  • Must be able to physically intervene in a quick manner to assist or protect a child (for example, run after a child, block a child from harming self or others, soften a child's fall, assist a child with toileting by lifting the child onto the toilet or changing a diaper on the floor, providing hand over hand assistance for washing hands)
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal speech levels, in the English language
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through verbal communication
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to apply knowledge from required trainings into real life settings
